Why Family Supportive Housing?
To strengthen our community by funding programs that support, empower and advance educational and healthy lifestyle opportunities for those who are underserved and marginalized in our community, with proceeds raised in the Spirit of Giving.
Beneficiary
Our 2018 Spirit of Giving boutique beneficiary is Family Supportive Housing. Proceeds from Spirit of Giving will help guide homeless single-and two-parent families from crisis to self-sufficiency by helping to address their needs for food, shelter, employment and education during a pivotal and trying time. Each year, Family Supportive Housing provides 52,000 shelter nights and 186,000 hot meals, in addition to a comprehensive list of services to homeless families.
About Family Supportive Housing
Getting families off of the street, providing emergency shelter and food is just part of what Family Supportive Housing does. Their San José Family Shelter is the only shelter in Santa Clara Country that exclusively serves single-and two-parent families. During a family’s stay, Family Supportive Housing works collaboratively to develop a step-by-step plan for self-sufficiency by providing On-site case managers, an on-site licensed daycare facility and a homework enrichment program. In addition, Family Supportive Housing provides extended case management to continue assisting with housing employment, budgeting, parenting classes and health care services for clients who successfully complete their Shelter program.
